The Circuito de Travesías, which is organised by the Provincial Council and is held on reservoirs and bays on the coast, was held with the collaboration of Aventura Alpujarra, which runs the Centro Náutico del Valle de Lecrín.

Over 200 hundred swimmers took part within the various categories of this swimming event: 500 metros infantil, the 1,500 and the 2,000 metre races.

There were sitting areas and marquees set up for the spectators in case of rain.

After the individual races concluded and trophies awarded, there was a raffle of prizes made up of local produce to promote the area.

The Asociación de Empresarios de Turismo Rural del Valle de Lecrín, offered overnight stays in hotels and restaurant vouchers. Amongst the local products was wine from Señorío de Nevada and olive oil from Orovalle and Navarro García.
