The Guardia Civil cyber-crime team, known as Equipos @, was surprised to find that an Almuñécar lawyer for a fraud suspect turned out to be on the Wanted List.

They had moved in to arrest a female suspect behind a case of cyber fraud and ended up arresting the suspect’s court-appointed lawyer, as well. The lawyer had ignored a summons to appear before a judge to clarify an affair involving him.

According to the Guardia Civil, after having arrested the woman she requested a court-appointed lawyer to defend her. When they met the lawyer they realised that he had warrant for arrest issued in his name by a Granada law court for ignoring a summons.

Consequently, immediately after providing legal assistance to his client in police custody, he was arrested himself.
