COS Otivar Scrambling Descent RaceAll told there are 125 competitors, amongst them is our Alvaro García from the village and Víctor Pozo from La Herradura, both of whom are members of the Club AC La Herradura. Another local competitor is Álvaro Valderrama who is a member of the Club Show Time BMX.

This trial sets in motion the 2023 Copa España de Descenso, which is proof that the Otívar downhill track is firmly within the top venues for such competitions.

Anybody who lives around there (Cútar) will know where they literally ‘launch’ themselves from, the winding goat-track-route they descend and where the finishing line comes out, next to the municipal swimming pool.

And you would be wrong to think that this is purely a testosterone event because the female competitors are right up there with the best: Zoe Zamora (her sister) Kira Zamora, Aina González, Nastasia Giménez and Mireia Pi.

The 1.6 km track, which has a descent angle of just over 18%, is prepared by The AJ46 Project, As for the timetable, Saturday will see competitors practicing and getting to know the trail between from 10.00h, whilst the race itself the next day will also start at 10.00h culminating in the finals at 12.00h
