Today getting around in Almuñécar will be a little bit more complicated in the Calle Guadix/Paseo San Cristóbal area.
Workmen will be busy covering over the ditches they have made to lay pipes between Calle Guadix (that’s the main drag down to San Cristóbal) and Calle Los Claveles, which runs parallel. Consequently, traffic will be diverted.
This will mainly affect traffic trying to enter Plaza de Abderramán or El Castillo, as during the morning they will have to do so via Avenida Europa (that the one that passes alongside Parque Majuelo) according to the Municipal Surveyor.
All this work has been about cleaning out the sewage collector and replacing the manhole covers to access it, as apparently they had deteriorated. Next to this old one they have installed a new collector so that the load capacity will be doubled… and all for the sum of 400,000 euros.
