Do you fancy making a fool of yourself, or showing off, depending on your skill, on an ice-skating rink this Christmas? You're in luck!
Over the whole festive season, the metropolitan area of Granada, La Zubia more specifically, will have such an installation, which will be completely free for users. You don’t have to live there, either, so locals and visitors alike can enjoy a spot of icy skating.
The rink, which has been set up in the Parque de La Encina, opens on Sunday the 11th (tomorrow) at 11.00h and will be open every day until the 9th of January, so there are plenty of opportunities to get a visit in.
OK, the Town Hall recommends that you make a reservation by phoning 613 905 017 or 613 901 056. You must supply your name, your shoe size and tell them what time you will be there — you’re allowed 15 minutes; this is so that everybody gets a chance to hit the ice — hopefully, not too hard.
In order to get your ice skates, you will have to give them your TIE number (NIE), so that you’re not tempted to walk off with them.
The rink will be open, Mondays to Fridays, from 17.00h to 20.00h until the 23rd. As for weekends, the times will be from 11.00h to 13.00h & 17.00h to 20.00h. On some days there will be special opening time, such as the 24th and 31st of December, which will then be 11.00h to 13.00h & 16.00h to 18.00h. From the 25th until the 8th, opening times will be: 11.00h to 13.00h & 17.00h to 20.00h. Finally, on the 9th, which is the last day, it will be from 17.00h to 20.00h.
Oh, and when you want to make a reservation on one of those two numbers given above, it should be Mondays or Tuesdays 12.00h to 14.00h and Wednesdays and Thursdays between 16.00h and 18.00h.
