The very popular lottery system, La Primativa, left over a million euros in Almuñécar on Thursday.

Some lucky person got six numbers right and bagged 1,332,711 euros. Well, to be honest, 20-odd percent will be grabbed by the Tax Office, thanks to ex-PM Mariano Rajoy, who introduced taxing gambling wins, but it still leaves the winner with enough for an overdose of wine, women and song.

The lottery office where the ticket was registered, with the lucky numbers 1, 2, 27, 28, 39, and 46 ticked was the one in the Plaza de La Rosa, just across from Restaurante Los Geraneos.

Mind you, the lottery organisation hardly lost out on the win because it took 10,200,000 euros, so there was no weeping coming from the State.
