Almuñécar's Aquatropic water park closed its doors on Sunday after a bonus summer season, far beyond their expectations.

With plenty of sun & high temperatures, the park has been a beguiling attraction for thousands of tourists. Furthermore, as it is a water park that takes its water directly from the sea, the dire situation caused by the drought has not affected its functioning.

The same as previous years, the last few days of the season were dedicated to the over 65s, who enjoyed free entry.

“As far as this summer goes, it has been a good year for water parks in general within Andalucía, according to those I have spoken to,” explained the park manager, Vicente Babero.

Of course, Aquatropic has been pushing publicity for their installations not only within the province, but also in the neighbouring one of Málaga. However, many of those that have visited the park are customers that come year after year and need no enticing publicity.
