The Guardia Civil are investigating the circumstances behind the death of the woman whose body was found floating near the Balcón de Europa.

The victim was discovered around 09.15h on the 21st. Several people had phoned into the emergency number 112 after seeing the body floating, face down, in the water.

The police, Protección Civil and an ambulance soon arrived. As soon as the body was brought to shore, it was obvious that the person was dead so the coroner was informed so that the body could be removed.

According to police sources, the body belongs to a  woman of around 50 and the Guardia Civil are trying to establish the identity of the woman, whilst they wait for the forensic report from the autopsy.
