The XXIII Feria Gastronómica de Almuñécar is being held in the Parque Botánico El Majuelo this weekend, after a two-year pause because of Covid.
In the inauguration ceremony, Joaquín Barbero, who used to run the Chambao de Joaquín, received an award from the Asociación de Hostelería del Valle Tropical (AHVT) for being one of the pioneers of the Feria Gastronómica.
The event was also in postumus homage to Miguel Jerónimo, who many will remember from Mesón Mari y Miguel on the Avenida de Andalucía (Almuñécar) who died only a few months ago.
This fair has always given visitors a chance to sample some of the favourite dishes from bars, restuarants and mesons within the municipality, without having to walk further than a few metres between stalls.
Hostelry businesses participating are: Heladería Café Daniel, GastroBar de la Flor, Mesón Gala, La Despensa de la Abuela, Bar Bikini, Mesón Mari y Miguel, La Choza, Mesón del Gusto, El Puchero Verde, Hotel Carmen, Rosa Negra, Rincón de Linares, El Rincón Asturiano, Da Mario Restaurante Pizzeria, Food Trucho Comida Italiana and Jeteña Food Truck amongst others.
The event wraps up tomorrow at midday so make sure that you don’t miss it!
