It appears that the underground parking installations under the Paseo del Altillo de Almuñécar have been flooded out.

Residents living in the area brought this to the attention of the far-left party, IU, who in turn have demanded an explanation from the governing coalition under Mayor Trinidad Herrera.

Apparently, the water contains sewage, which apart from being pretty ghastly is decidedly unhealthy for the drivers who have cars down there.

The said party, Izquierda Unida Podemos, points out that the car park is publicly owned but managed by a private company through a lease arrangement.

For this reason it urges the municipal administration to clarify who is responsible for the situation as “it can’t continue like this one second more.”
