The Policía Local in Granada evicted customers from a pub in the centre of the city because it had double the amount of customers permitted.
When the police arrived, after receiving complaints about the noise, they found 135 people inside the pub when its maximum occupation limit is only 65. This happened around 02.55h, Saturday morning.
It was precisely because of crowding inside that the owner had all the windows and doors open; hence the noise coming out of the premises.
The police have informed the Junta de Andalucia, whose responsibility it is to quantify and issue a fine, which in this case is classed as a very grave breach of the Ley de Espectáculos Pùblicos.
Calle Ganivet, together with Calle Pedro Antonio de Alarcón, is a very popular bars district of the city and complaints about excessive noise are frequent, which is why the Policía Local carry out regular patrols in these areas.
