The Motril Policía Local have been busy investigating video images posted on social-media platforms of a car driving the wrong way up a busy one-way street.
This incident occurred on Friday night when the driver cut across the Plaza de Aurora, which is strictly a pedestiran area where children play, and then drove up Calle Nueva, which is a one-way street and main, traffic thoroughfare.
The driver was proceeding slowly, admittedly, but many people in the square recorded the car’s progress with their mobile-phone cameras and posted the videos on line.
The police scrutinised the footage of the silver-colour car and were able to read the numberplate. They made out a fine for reckless driving and for driving on areas reserved for pedestrians which will result in a fine of between 500 and 1,000 euros, depending on how quickly the car owner pays it.
