Lorry Hits Bus – Nobody Hurt

If you're drunk at the wheel, what's the best way of getting as many witnesses as possible to testify against you? Crash into a bus!

GRA Bus StationThis is precisely what happened in Granada when a lorry driver managed to run into an Alsa bus with 60 passengers on board – nobody was hurt.

They couldn’t have been pleased with being held up for over an hour whilst statements were taken etc, despite being only a few hundred metres from their destination.

This was on Friday last week around 20.30h just off the Maracena A-44 junction, several hundred metres or so from the Granada bus station.

The Guardia Civil breathalysed the lorry driver, the reading for which was not a good omen for the driver’s future employment. Bear in mind that professional drivers are only allowed 0.15 mg/l air exhaled, whereas non-professional drivers can have up to 0.25 mg/l before they are dragged out of their vehicles and flagellated with a surprised but mildly aroused trout.

The bus passengers, amongst whom were the elderly and children, were not the only people to be held up because of the accident as the incident itself caused tailbacks on the A-44 next to the Maracena exit junction between 20.30h and 21.15h.
