Deficient Masks Withdrawn

The Consumer-Protection Department at Granada City Hall has withdrawn from the market 116,000 surgical masks because of deficiencies.

GRA Surgical MasksApparently the masks lack having undergone a bacteria-filter test as demanded by health regulations.

Furthermore, thanks to a nationwide alert sent out by the City Hall, a further 1,898,368 such masks have been withdrawn from the consumer market around the rest of Spain.

The municipal Councillor for Education & The Environment, Jacobo Calvo, made an announcement before the press, pointing out that his department has carried out 116 different inspections within the city during this year, resulting in 5,126 items being withdrawn from sale over health and safety issues.

Of these products intervened, 2,104 were toys, 894 were school material and 111 fancy-dress costumes for children.
