Civil Registry Appointments

The Palacio de Justicia de Motril (lawcourts) has installed a system for making an appointment with the Civil Registry eliminating the need to physically go there.

MOT Cita Previa Civil registryThe system has been up and running several weeks already and has become the 24th lawcourts within Andalucía to have it. In the case of Granada, there is also one in our provincial capital as well as Santa Fe.

The Motril Civil Registry serves the whole of the Costa Tropical.

Provincial Delegate for the Junta in Granada, Enrique Barchino, explained that it would allow people to carry out several administrative tasks via its webpage, by selecting the office where you want to have your appointment.

Upon doing this, you will be sent an SMS, an email or a QR code to the person (you) requesting the appointment, which you must present using one of the machines installed on the premises upon arrival for your appoinment – in other words, it’s like an ITV appointment acquired online which you then confirm through a machine at the ITV centre on the day.

The online webpage will also be able to tell you what documents you will need to bring with you at your appointment.

The Delegate considers that this move was in demand by both the staff at the Palacios de Justicia de Andalucía, as well as the people who will be using it.

Motril’s Chief Justice, María Ángeles Ballesteros, considers the system to be an improvement as citizens can request an appointment via the Internet and thus avoid queueing.
