The Joven Orquesta Mediterránea will begin its season of concerts in Almuñécar on the 31st with the Requiem in D minor, (K.626) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The venue is the Casa de la Cultura de Almuñécar and the concert will begin at 19:00h. The J.O.M. will be joined by the Coro de Ópera de Granada, conducted by Pablo Guerrero. The soloists will be Carmina Sánchez (Soprano) Mikel Uskola (Countertenor) Carlos Oriz (Tenor) and Víctor Cruz (Bass).
“The beauty of the Mozart’s Requiem in D minor is well known and its origins wrapped in reality and legend. When Mozart died on the 5th of December 1791 he left the Requiem incomplete and it was his widow, Constanze Weber, who searched round for a composer to finish the work, which was completed by Franz Xaver Süssmayr; a disciple of Mozart,” explained the coordinator of the J.O.M., Antonio Peralta, continuing, “he delivered the finished Requiem to Count Franz von Walsegg, who commissioned the piece for a requiem service on 14 February 1792 to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of his wife, Anna,”
This will be a hugely popular event, which will very quickly sell out but you can obtain your tickets via www.barvoentradas.es, or Viajes Ecuador Almuñécar (Paseo Altillo) and at the Casa de la Cultura.
