Almuñécar Grants for Businesses

Almuñécar Town Hall will give a grant of 700 euros to 262 businesses in Almuñécar and La Herradura who had successfully applied for it.

ALM Town HallHowever, the total number of businesses that requested the grant was 483, so 121 of them had their requests rejected

The Councillor for the Municipal Tax Department, Rafael Caballero, explained that the majority had been rejected because they could have remained open during the lockdown; i.e., they closed because they wanted to and not because they were forced to.

The councillor said that they had extended the deadline to give those that were missing certain documents to find them and hand them over, which brought the number of grant recipients up to the 262 figure.

The Town Council had put aside a fund of 250,000 euros within the 2021 budget for this purpose and the first applicants will be receiving their grant money starting this month.

The businesses when they applied for the grant were able to claim for extra sanitary/medical material, premises rent, autónomo quotas and supply services, up to a maximum of 700 euros.
