The kennel has a built area of 1,547 sq/m and can house 30 dogs in its cages and two dogs in isolation. It also has a grassed area & garden, as well as a yard where dogs can be trained, complete with ramps etc.
There is also a vet’s surgery and administrative office for the management of the ‘inmates.’ The centre also has a vet who is in charge of drawing up care strategy and disease control.
Three workers man the kennel so that it can run 24 hours, as well as offer a dog-training service, kenneling and even a canine, sports club.
The Mayor, M.ª Eugenia Rufin, turned up for the inauguration even and was treated to a demonstration put on by the handlers of sniffer dogs. The Mayor considers that this is a great initiative for the town as it is another service that is available for the local dog owners.
