The Councillor for Justice & Administration was present in what is to be the new Almuñécar law courts, situated in Edificios Kairos (San Sebastian).
Also present was the Director General of Judicial Infrastructure, Miguel Ángel Reyes, and the Provincial Delegate for Justice, Gustavo Rodríguez. All three officials inspected the ongoing adaption work to this ground-floor space, which previously housed the Notary Office.
There is sufficient space for lawyer and solicitor offices, a video-conference room, as well as a separate room where statements made by victims of gender violence can be made.
This arrangement, however, will be a stop-gap one until a new, Courts of Justice complex is eventually built on a plot yet to be allocated. In the meantime, the new law courts in Edificio Kairos are under a rental arrangement. The cost of adapting the Edif. Kairos installations and the rent for the next four years is 815,000 euros.
