A medical worker was involved in a road accident and seriously injured on the A-356 just outside Colmenar in the Axarquía. A lorry had invaded her lane.

What makes this incident different to other traffic accidents was that a fellow medical worker from the Colmenar medical centre just happened to be driving past minutes after the collision. He immediately phoned the medical centre which quickly despatched their own ambulance

Although her injuries were serious, it was thanks to her receiving rapid medical attention that her condition is described as “being out of danger.”

The Guardia Civil are investigating what caused the lorry to be on the wrong side of the road.
