Two new attractions opened up in Almuñécar today; the tourist train and the Aquarium, bringing a normal summer feel to the town.
The reopening of these two tourist attractions join those of the Castillo de San Miguel and the bird park, Loro Sexi.
The Aquario opens with a repopulation of 200 specimens belonging to a score of species, from the Mediterranean aquatic fauna: common eagle ray, brown meagre or corb pomfret, sea bream, crabs, damselfish, red porgy, white seabream, snakelocks sea anemone, beadlet anemone and spine trumpet fish.
Opening times are 10:00h to 14:00h and then 18:00h to 22:00h every day.
Now we come to the Trópico Express which is the small, open-carriage, road train which annoys everybody, even the people who have paid to ride in it, who have to look apologetically at the car driver trapped behind them.
The Trópico Express leaves at 19.00h from in front of Chinasol, running along the Paseos de San Cristóbal, Calle Guadix, Avenida Costa del Sol, la Carrera de la Concepción, Avenida Rey Juan Carlos I Paseo Puerta del Mar, Paseo Reina Sofía and Paseo Velilla before wending its way back.
