Many official meetings have taken place via videoconference and plenary meetings of town halls etc are no exception… but doing it from a beach?
Let us explain: there was a plenary meeting of the Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol and each department head participated in a video conference. You can expect these politicians to do it from home, given the present circumstace, but whilst sunbathing on a beach?
This was the case of Paola Moreno, a PP Vice-Mayor at the Torrox Town Hall and a department head for the Mancomunidad, who thought it appropriate to participate in a bikini, lying on a towel on one of the town’s beaches.
It is no surprise that the opposition parties are far from happy. In fact the PSOE have posted a twitter image of the councillor.
We don’t know how much this councillor receives for this morning’s work but it is probably around 100 euros. Something that many users on Twitter are pointing out with one suggesting that she should be fired so that she can spend more time on the beach…
She has since apologised and said that she would renounce the money earnt for ‘attending’ the plenary meeting of the Mancomunidad and promised that it would not happen again. In her defence she offered that she had promised her kids that she would take them to the beach as soon as the Lock Down permitted it.
Editorial comment: if you were an employee from a private company, who is supposed to be working from home, then you would already have been sent packing.
