The Almuñécar Policía Local arrested a fugitive earlier in the week who had been on the run for five months.

The arrested man, 26-year-old, J. H. F, was finally detained in the Laderas de Castellar area of the municipality (San Sebastian) after jumping a road check on the Paseo del Velilla.

The man, who had two passengers onboard, also tried to get past a second control stop point but ended up abandoning the car and running off but he was found a dozen metres or so away, hiding under a parked car.

The two passengers might face charges of aiding and abetting a fugitive from the law.
