A medical worker at Hospital San Agustín, who had been missing from work for several days, was found at home, lying on the floor and suffering from dehydration.
It was at 16.20h on Tuesday when the Guardia Civil post in Piedras Blancas received a call from this hospital in Avilés (Asturias) to say that a worker was missing. The hospital management gave them his name and address in nearby Castrillón.
The officers located the apartment but nobody answered their calls at the door. Fearing that the person could be inside and unable to answer, they managed to gain access to the flat via scaffolding on the facade of the building.
Once inside, they heard a faint, incoherent voice. They found him in one of the rooms lying on the floor. Waiting for the ambulance, he managed to tell them that he had been lying on the floor for three days unable to get up. He was confused and suffering from dehydration.
He was rushed to the same hospital where he works, but this time as a patient.
