The Guardia Civil Traffic Department in Guadalajara, carried out during 2019 an operation, concentrating on drivers caught with no valid licence.

During that period, road controls detected 161 drivers without them and at least seven of them were caught twice for the same thing. Don’t forget; this is only in the province of Guadalajara (Castilla–La Mancha).

Furthermore, 19 of them when stopped were on their way to driving schools to sit a course in order to recover their driving licence after having lost all their points.

Lastly, even if the car has a valid insurance policy, it will not cover an accident if the driver does not possess a valid driving licence; in other words, if you have an accident and the other driver doesn’t have a licence, his insurance won’t pay out if the accident were his fault and neither will yours, if it was your fault, to cover his damages.
