Salobreña is set to begin its hiker season on the 27th of this month with a trip along Rio Dúrcal.
The Municipal Sports Department organises a series of walks each year in collaboration with Synergia Sports – this is the fourth consecutive year of this arrangement. The walks are spread out over the next nine months and consist of nine walks; i.e., one walk a month.
In previous years the walks have all taken place within the province but this year it will also include one in Málaga (Río Chillar de Nerja). Most of the hiking routes are new ones although some old favourites will be repeated by request of the regular participants.
The fee is the same as last year; i.e., 12 euros a walk per person. Alternatively you can buy a season pass for only 55 euros. This sum includes transport, guides and obligatory insurance coverage.
The routes and dates are as follows:
27/10: Rio Dúrcal.
24/11: Órgiva
15/12: Río Cacín
19/01: Nigüelas-Lecrin
23/02: Cerro de Lopera
22/03: Dehesa del Sacromente-Albaicín
19/04: Cerro Gordo (Almuñécar)
24/05: Sierra de Huetor
21/06: Río Chillar
You don’t have to be a resident of Salobreña to participate – you only have to be over 18. However, minors can participate if accompanied by an adult. The maximum participants per route is 50. If you’re interested, you can register at www.sinergyasport.com
