The new Councillor for Tourism, Daniel Barbero, announced last month that work has begun on reopening one of Almuñécar museums.
The Museo Las Claves de Almuñécar, which is within the Casa de la Cultura, has been closed these last five years but now with a budget of 3,000 euros the councillor hopes that it will be reopened at the beginning of this month.
Las Claves de Almuñécar has expositions covering the 3,000 years of Almuñécar’s history, including how the coastline has changed since the Roman times, for example, thanks to very accurate scale models.
There are also information boards, videos, photos and even a hologram, as you wind you way down to the lowest floor.
Well worth a visit, indeed!
