The company that runs the Sierra-Nevada ski station has decided to extend the skiing season until May the 5th, if snow coverage continues.
This decision was brought on by the copious snowfall last weekend, leaving a metre of fine snow on the slopes. Borreguiles, for example, has three metres.
According to the said company, Cetursa-Sierra Nevada, the ski station enjoys “excellent conditions” for skiing along 100-km of skiiable slopes.
This delayed closure means that Sierra Nevada will probably be the Spanish ski resort that has operated most days during the 2018-19 skiing season.
But there is more news because the ski station will apply spring rates and the underground parking under the Plaza de Andalucia will be free.
