Almuñécar now has an intensive, neuro-rehab centre for those that have suffered strokes or traumatic brain injuries.
Casa Afasia, housed in a villa in Taramay, was built by a Dutch diplomat who fell in love with Costa Tropical. The centre is wheelchair adapted and all rooms are accessible. The large garden and its proximity to the sea is ideal for patients and their recovery.
Physiotherapist Anna Sjöhol, who is the director of operations at Casa Afasia, says that Almuñécar is perfect, thanks to its climate and also because of its proximity to their research laboratory for neuronal diseases, which is located in Málaga.
This is definately very good news for not only Almuñécar, but also the whole of the Costa Tropical.
