The Town Hall has organised a series of guided tours as part of the municipal archaeological visits, A Stroll Through History.
This Sunday’s visit will take in the Ingenio Real and its repercussions for the town and surroundings. The Ingenio (factory) was a sugar factory in San Sebastian.
Municipal archaeologist, Elena Navas, who acts as the guide, explained that on one Sunday each month there will be an organised visit exploring historic sites, starting at 10.30h and ending at 13.30h (estimated finishing time). These visits are to promote awareness of the town’s archaeological assets.
These guided tours are free, however groups are restricted to a maximum of 25-30 people because of the limited size of some of the sites visited, such as the Cueva de Siete Palacios or the Necrópolis Puente Noy.
You can put your name down via firstname.lastname@example.org, giving your full name and contact email (you’ll receive confirmation through it).
Normally, these visits can be booked between the first of the month and up to one week before the tour.
Update: Sorry, no more space for this Sunday, but have asked Elena to let us know as soon as possible when there is another guided tour coming up.
