There’s top class Jazz in the City of Granada in November at the Teatro Isabel la Católica as part of the XXXIX Festival Internacional de Jazz de Granada.
The Jazz festival will run from the 2nd of November to the 10th and will include such top names as bassman Stanley Clarke (9th).
Other names on the bill are the Melisa Aldana Quartet, who will be the opening act of the festival on the 2nd. Stacey Kent, a top vocalist, will be the closing act on the 20th.
Granada held its first international jazz festival in 1980 and remains the only Spanish Jazz festival that belongs to the Europe Jazz Network. Some of the great names that have performed are: Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson, Charlie Haden, Art Blakey, Tete Montoliu, Dizzy Gillespie, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Bebo and Chucho Valdés
