The Policía Nacional in Torre del Mar are investigating a break-in at an electronic-goods store in the Centro Comercial el Ingenio complex.

The break-in occurred in the early hours of Wednesday the 15th, around 04.30h, with the thieves breaking through the shop window of Worten’s with sledgehammers.

Within minutes of gaining access, the thieves cleared the shop of laptops, tablets and mobile telephones.

The total value of the goods stolen has not been made public, although estimates run into several thousand euros.

This is not the first break-in of this kind that has occurred at the Ingenio Shopping Centre as a few years ago the multi-national Orange phone/internet provider was targeted with the thieves hammering a hole through a wall into the shop from the exterior.

Lastly, the Worten shop is not within the shopping centre itself, but rather attached to it.
