It might still be summer and dry down on the coast, but Guadix is a different matter; the ramblas nearly burst their banks yesterday.
The heavy, summer downpour began at 16.00h and lasted for two hours, producing raging, muddy waters that seethed down the Rambla de Baza and the Rambla del Marquesado.
Water also flooded out of a cave-dwelling near the Guadix train station, only 20 metres from the railway tracks.
Such was the force of the water that it flowed over the wall into the park where the puestecillos are, flooding out the fairground.
The rain was accompanied by strong winds with tables and chairs being blown down the streets from bar terraces.
