A Swiss citizen was intercepted by the Guardia Civil with over 100,000 euros in cash and charged with money-laundering.
The car was stopped and searched on the 21st, travelling on the A-92 where it passes through the province of Granada.
The driver claimed that the briefcase containing the money belonged to the 50-year-old swiss passenger, who was intending to buy a boat with it.
They said that they were bringing the money from Switzerland and had entered the country via Málaga Airport. They weren’t able to produce any legal documents demonstrating its legal origin.
The Guardia Civil confiscated 100,800 euros of the 101,330 that were in the case, leaving the man with enough to cover his necessities.
