Flamenco & Much More in Salobreña

SAL FlamencoThis Friday will see a Flamenco performance by Mayka Romero in aid of a Semana Santa fraternity and charity in the Auditorium. She will be accompanied by members of the Escuela de Baile Flamenco de Cristina Rosado.

But there’s more because the next day there will be a play, which is doing the rounds nationally, entitled, Te he dejado un pollo en el horno (I left you a Chicken in the Oven) with performances by María Casal (the playwrite), María José del Valle and Marisol Rolandi. A good chance to sharpen up your Spanish, no less!

Then on Friday the 23rd there are two cultural activities. The local bookshop, 1616 Books, will be celebrating the International Day for Poetry, where those who attend will be invited to choose a poem and read it out loud. We imagine that the language chosen is not important.

Meanwhile, over in the town auditorium, the Escuela de Baile Flamenco will be performing to knock up some funds for their school trip, so why not watch a spot of Flamenco dancing and and thus provide the students with a little cash for their trip?

The last event for the month will be on the 24th where you will have a chance to list to a spot of Jazz-Funk performed by One for My Baby at the auditorium at 21.00h

So, there you have it; plenty of cultural activity in Salobreña!
