The local branch of Ciudadanos in Motril have complained that the bus station and surrounding area is looking pretty shoddy.

They find it lamentable that after a score of years waiting for a modern bus station, when Motril actually got one in 2017, it is lacking access pavements for pedestrians, parking for cars and an area for loading and unloading baggage from cars dropping off passengers.

There is also a lack of lighting, according to some bus drivers, who say that they have to carry flashlights around.

And above all, there is the accumulating litter, claims the spokeswoman of this opposition party, Lola Sánchez, who observed, “We can’t have a reception area for passengers that is not completely finished and lacking the services that Motril deserves.”

Editorial comment: Motril’s finally got a bus station – why don’t politicians just take a day off from whinging about each other. The new bus station is far better than the old one, despite any faults that it might have. It’s also in a much handier location.
