Ski Station Opens

ALP Snow CannonsDespite a complete lack of rainfall and therefore natural snow, the Sierra Nevada Ski Station will go ahead and initiate its 2017-2018 skiing season.

Accordingly, on the 25th of November, the ski station will open its slopes to the public, thanks to lower temperatures and a battery of snow cannons covering the ski slopes with artificial snow.

The snow ploughs have managed to arrange the snow around the beginners area, especially around the Emile Allais chair lift. During the next days the snow cannons will be working around the Veleta and Veleta II chair lifts.

If you would like to take a look right now, then you can via the ski station’s webcams. Details on how many skiable kilometres will be available on the 25th will be made known closer to the date.
