The Almuñécar Department of Culture has a lot planned for October; all in all, 20 music, literature, theatre and other cultural events.
As far a flamenco shows go, on Friday the 6th at 20.00h the flamenco dancer, Fuensanta (a Moneta) will be performding her show intitled Divino Amor Humano. Then, on the 15th, Antonio Gómez (El Turry) accompanied by instrumentalists Jorge Pardo and Rubén Dantas, Jerónimo Maya will jointly perform Un Camino Diferente.
But there’s more in that musical field because from the 19th to the 21st in the Casa de la Cultura there will be the Festival de Guitarra Flamenca de Almuñécar. The festival opens on the 19th at 20.00h with Guitarist David Caro.
On day two of the festival Miguel Ochando will give a masterclass performance and on Day three, Javier Conde and cerrará Niño Josele. The finishing touch will be provided by the Almuñequera dancer, Paola Almodóvar with her performance entitled, A tiempo, accompanied by fellow dancer, Iván Vargas.
Moving on to other kinds of music, the Municipal Band will provide their first autumn performance on the 8th in the Town Hall Square in the early evening.
As for choral performances, the Coro de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Universidad de Granada, will give a concert in the main church, La Iglesia Encarnación. This performance will be the first in their autumn tour.
Then the Coro Ciudad de Almuñécar, conducted by Pablo Guerrero will perform alongside the Köln Choir.
Finally, in the music section of the cultural agenda for October, the Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad de Atarfe will give a concert featuring the music of Tchaikosky, accompanied by the violinist, Jesús Reina.
Now we come to art with the VI Encuentro Internacional de Arte, which will be held between the 22nd the 28th, just one of the exhibitions on at the Casa de la Cultura in October (other exhibitions by Arte Sur and Artex)
On the 25th and 27th there will be the IV Jornadas de Arqueología e Historia de la Costa Tropical, which will be a series of interesting conferences where they will talk about, amongst other things, the latest archaeological find on the Monte Velilla.
As far as kiddy events go, there will be Alice in Wonderland on the 8th performed by the theatre company Aral. The play will be a charity performance in aid Manos Unidas.
