A 13-year-old lad died in an accident involving a quad in San Pelayo de Tehona, (Asturias).

The boy was wearing a helmet but his towel, which he had hanging from his neck, got caught in one of the wheels and the violent jerk snapped his neck.

The accident occurred at 21.00h on Saturday the 15th on the AS-268 where it passes through the municipality of Valdes.

San Pelayo de Tehona has just 79 inhabitants living in a village comprising of only 31 dwellings, so the loss will be especially acute in such a small community.
