A police operation resulted in a drugs bust on a Maro (Nerja) beach during the early hours of the 1st of June.

A total of 19 packages of hashish were confiscated on the Cala del Pino beach, weighing a total of 600 kilos, after the Guardia Civil surprised two individuals in the act of landing the haul. However, the men were able to evade capture.

The men were using a zodiac dinghy (RIB), which was confiscated along with the drug packages.

On the same day a package of hashish was discovered floating of the El Morche beach (Torrox). A local alerted the police to its presence, who then took charge of the find.
