The secondary school, IES Mediterráneo will have a trade-training module included within its curriculum, teaching laundry cleaning and accommodation.
According to the press release, both of these subjects are necessary to become a hotel room cleaner, although it assures that they are also valid for private laundry companies, as well as actually working in hotels.
Having both theory and practical-training parts to the course, the school has approached local businesses for vocational training to cover the practice part.
This first course has places for 20 students a year, those who are interested should approach the administration office of school (secretaría) between the 15th and 30th of June.
Finally, these trade-training (Formación Profesional; i.e., polytechnic) add to the school’s already-existing Escuela de Hostelería.
