Drone Piloting Course

ALM IES Puerta del Mar2Almuñécar will host a course on the practice/theory of remote-controlled drone operating on the 24th and 28th of July, provided by the University of Granada.

Centro Mediterráneo de la Universidad de Granada also counts on collaboration of the P4 secondary school, IES Puerta del Mar.

The course on RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) will deal with the basic concepts of structure, flying configurations, practical custom designing, applications and operating norms.

In other words, their parts, how to put them together, how to programme them, how to fly them and the rules that govern their use.

The Vice Head of the Centro Mediterráneo, Vanessa M. Martos Núñez, explained that there will be a drone for every study group, with a maximum of four students per group.

The course will be given in the said secondary school and headed by Professor Alberto Prieto Espinosa, who runs the Architecture and IT Department, with the help of Rodrigo Agis Melero, who is the Head of the Laboratorio de Mecatrónica y Robótica del Centro de Instrumentación Científica and who holds an Advanced RPAS Pilot title.

Finally, the term RPAS is also known as UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System), UAVS (Unmanned-Aircraft Vehicle System) and RPAV (Remotely Piloted Aerial Vehicle).
