La Herradura now has its own Padel Club with almost 20 members, whose aim it is to compete on a provincial and even a regional level, says its Chairwoman, Victoria Cervilla.

Up to now, most of the members of this new club had been playing for the Club Pádel Team de Almuñécar, but, she explained, they had decided to create their own, all-female, village team.

However, the new club, which has its office in the Centro Cívico, plans on expanding, taking in new members and even male players. They plan to make good use of the village’s padel courts, which is next to the municipal stadium.

The First Councillor for La Herradura, Juan José Ruiz Joya, was present at the club’s inauguration, together with the Almuñécar Councillor for Sports, Luis Aragón.

The club has as Vice Chairwoman, María Gaitán; Esther Cervilla as Club Secretary and Carmen Ligero as Club Secretary.
