Now it’s the turn of Calle Huelva in Almuñécar for a facelift in the relentless renovation programme for pedestrian streets leading off Avendida Juan Carlos I.
The work, which should take about a month, entails separating sewer from rain drainage, so that when it rains heavily, sewage doesn’t push up from the manhole covers.
As the street is being dug up for this purpose, the utility companies have the opportunity to renovate their cables; i.e., telephony and electricity ones. The 23,000-euro budget will also include the replacing of the surface tiles.
In case you’re in any doubt about where it is, it is the one that’s two streets up from Olivares.
