The Policía Nacional smashed a gang that was offering the virginity of a 16-year-old girl for 5,000 euros on its web page. Arrests were carried out in Marbella.

It was thanks to an anonymous tip off from a caller who had come across the ‘offer’ on a web page whilst browsing. The said tip off resulted in the arrest of seven individuals and the rescue of the said minor, who was being held against her will.

The gang had set up a system that included telephone operators who took the calls from clients to arrange the ‘dates,’ and with taxi drivers who ferried women to the hotels or homes of the clients. They also hired a IT specialist to make sure that their webpage enjoyed top ranking in search engines.

The advert for the girl stated that she was 18, although it was obvious from her photo that she was younger.

The police set about finding out who owned the webpage and where they lived. When this information was obtained, they obtained search warrants from a magistrate and raided the addresses given.

Those arrested were charged with sexual exploitation and corruption of minors.
