Two Romanian men drank themselves to death in Palencia in a competition to see who could drink the most.

The bodies of the two men, both aged 39, were found near their home in Villaluenga de la Vega (Palencia) on Sunday the 26th of February (today).

It was just after 09.00h that the bodies were discovered by a neighbour who alerted the Guardia Civil. Neither body showed signs of violence.

The Mayor of the town, Raúl Berzosa, laments the death of the two men who had “fully integrated” into the township, where they worked at a local wood yard.
