A 27-year-old father threw himself from a hospital window, clutching his baby girl – both were killed in the fall.

Vladimir V., who is originally from Chile, did this to spite his wife. In fact, just before leaping he shouted, “I’m going to hurt you where it hurts most!” He had previously spent time in prison for wife beating.

The incident occurred at the Hospital Universitario de la Paz in Madrid from a 1st-floor window, which was a drop of 12 metres; in other words, as if it were a 4th-floor window.

It was the baby that was in hospital, having been born prematurely, and the man and his wife were there to visit her. It appears that a violent argument broke out, finishing in the man throwing himself from the window clutching the baby.

Since 2013, 22 children have been killed by their fathers or by their mother’s partners. In the majority of these cases, the aggressor committed suicide afterwards.
