Salobreña Regatta Held

sal-regatta-2016-onlA lack of good sailing wind didn’t stop the small sailboat regatta taking place over the weekend of the 25th/26th, organized by the Real Club Náutico.

The regatta comprised of three trials for Saturday, of which only two could be held owing to the said lack of wind, whilst the complete sea calm experienced during Sunday effectively stopped any sailing trials taking place.

Yet, despite all this, the Regata 1er Trofeo Playas de Salobreña has served as a good experience for the larger, coming event in Spring 2017.

The organizers are not in the ‘doldrums’ by this set back, however, because the two trials that did take place both provided useful classifications, as well as demonstrated that the selected event area, set between the Peñon and La Guardia is ideal for future similar activities.

There was a total of 15 participants, all from the nautical club, divided into three categories: Optimist (Six to 13-year olds) Lazer 4.7 (14 to 18-year-olds and Finn, which was for adults.

The winners were:
Optimist: Ezequiel Carrascosa Torres and Javier Nollet Gutiérrez
Lazer 4.7: Angel Ballesteros Jiménez and Santiago Cuello Entrena
Finn: Alvaro Ballesteros Martínez and Miguel Cabrerizo Morales.
