The Town Hall employee belonging to the Youth Department, accused of sexual abuse, defends his innocence and states that he had been subjected to blackmail.
The said employee posted comments on facebook – where he has received unanimous support – saying that soon after his sexual orientation became known he became the victim of blackmail attempts and that the affair will soon be clarified and his innocence established.
One of the alleged victims, said to have British nationality and is on the point of turning 18, states that he had gone to the Town Hall to request a job within the said department and had been attended to by the accused, which is where the incident is alleged to have taken place.
The second alleged victim, the 16-year old, claims that he was approached whilst using municipal sports facilities.
“I knew that this situation would end up in the public eye and even though the accusations are not true It would end up stigmatizing me; apparently being a homosexual makes you a sexual abuser and disgusting,” adding, “I hope they are brave enough to publicly apologize as they were to accuse me.”
Editorial comment: a homosexual is no more likely to be a pedophile than a heterosexual is, yet, unfairly, society has long associated homosexuality with the sexual abuse of minors. Hopefully ours is the last generation in Europe whose childhood was indoctrinated with such prejudice.
