After a period of being closed, Playa El Cable in Motril has reopened for the use of dogs and their owners – the only beach for dogs on the Costa Tropical.

There is an area of around 300 metres on the beach, which is fenced in. If you are not sure where the beach is, it is about 200 metres from the Varadero roundabout – there is a signpost near the roundabout, indicating the way.

Now, just because the beach is for dogs, it doesn’t mean that it is OK to have a canine squat fest and just leave the excrement there – use your poop bags, as you would anywhere else in the town.

So, there you have it; a beach area for the exclusive use of dogs, accompanied by their owners, which will be available as long as dog owners keep the place clear of excrement.
